In June 2017, there was a bloody conflict between the Fulani and the Dogon in the Tolodié community, which recorded deaths, wounded and internally displaced people in the communes of Diankabou, Bamba, and Dioungani.

Under the lead of  the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs  (OCHA), a rapid inter-agency assessment was set up to assess the needs of displaced populations. As a result of this assessment, 404 households were identified.OCHA has requested an emergency response to meet food needs, NFI, etc.World Food Program responded to the request with food assistance for a period of three months from August 2017, and NRC with NFI kits. World Vision has decided to provide support through the cash distribution to 404 displaced households.

From 25 to 28 August 2017, World Vision Mali distributed cash to targeted communities, of which 404 households; each household received per month 20,000 francs (CFA).

A total of 403 beneficiaries out of the 404 targeted households benefited from this monetary transfer to cover certain household expenses such as medical care, shelter construction and small needs.

World Vision's support was appreciated by the beneficiaries, a pleasant surprise especially on the eve of the Tabaski celebration "We received food from the World Food Program, Non Food Item kits with NRC, the money received from World Vision Mali. This support will help us to face health care, cover our habitats against bad weather and buy condiments," says a village notable from Gondogorou.

Mr Aya , moved with his two wives and children to Gondogorou where they live very precariously. They live in two small huts built of straw. His second wife gave birth to twins a week before the cash distribution.

Ms Aya and his twins live in an incredible vulnerability in this winter season.

Mr. Aya is very pleased to receive this help, he says: "I will have to buy plastics to cover our shelters and we will be sheltered from the wind, dust and rain. Now, my twins and their mum will be well protected.
