Afghan kids celebrating Universal Children's Day!

Wednesday, November 22, 2017

World Vision Afghanistan in partnership with UNICEF, War Child and other local NGOs celebrated Universal Children’s Day on 20th of November. The aim was to remind the leaders and decision makers about children rights. Children had fun and enjoyed a moment of being together.

In Afghanistan, the proportion of the population under 15 is among the highest in the world - 46.2 percent (12.3 million). But the country’s level of poverty coupled with 40 years of conflict has made it extremely difficult for children to thrive. According to Afghanistan Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (2010/11), child and early marriage, child labor, violence and trafficking are some of the prevalent child protection issues that have a detrimental effect on the healthy growth and development of Afghan children.  Let’s watch how Afghan kids celebrated their day!
