Magdalena, is a 40-year-old woman from Batnes village, North Central Timor regency.

She joined World Vision Indonesia (WVI) as a child cadre who is responsible for any child activity held in her village. Being close to children is not difficult for her since every day she works as primary school teacher.

Every time I see children happy, I feel happy too. It’s a kind of priceless satisfaction. I feel like I have been taking part in their life’s pilgrimage.

Before their Christmas celebration, Magdalena was busy preparing for the child event in the village hall. The children were involved in many activities such as several competitions: eating kerupuk (Indonesian’s cracker), singing, and drawing. All children were welcomed to participate in the event. They demonstrated their ability to perform their best and uphold good sportsmanship.

“Every time I see children happy, I feel happy too. It’s a kind of priceless satisfaction. I feel like I have been taking part in their life’s pilgrimage,” she said.

To deepen her skills, Magdalena takes part in various training and activities held by WVI such giving special assistance to children in reading and writing.
