Watina's Healthy Rabbits

Friday, October 17, 2014

"Adow thanks for my friends from World Vision. You have taught us about the right way to nurture rabbits," said Mrs. Watina gratefully. She joined the training of Rabbit Nurture in Wame village, Irime, Lanny Jaya district.

Nurturing rabbit training is an economic development programme initiated by World Vision in Eruwok. In this training, mothers of children under five and health cadres in Lanny Jaya are trained to nurture rabbits properly.

For the Lanny Jaya people, rabbits have become as famous as cattle since World Vision brought them here a few years ago.

With the training, Watina and other women in her village learned the right way to nurture rabbits; what to feed them, when to feed them, how to clean their cages.

Nurturing their rabbits properly will help them earn additional income from selling their "cattle".
