On July 7th, it was an emotional time with tears of joy as Mrs. Oyunchimeg was awarded the “Golden Star” medal from the Government of Mongolia. This prize was issued by the order of the Mongolian President for the highest contribution that was invaluable to a specific sector. Mrs Oyunchimeg is the World Vision Mongolia National Coordinator for the Child Development and Protection Program.

For 16 years, Mrs. Oyunchimeg worked at an educational organization helping to prepare secondary education teachers. Mrs Oyunchimeg has worked in World Vision Mongolia for a total of 18 years leading the Child development and Protection Programs.

She started her work with World Vision as a houseparent in our child care center. She worked with children in difficult circumstances and influenced their lives positively with her incredible heart and diligent effort.

“I am very satisfied and happy about working with Mrs. Oyunchimeg,” said Mr. Erdenechuluun, the music teacher for the Children of the Blue Sky Choir, which is part of the World Vision Mongolia Child Development and Protection Program. He has been doing this for the past 12 years.

He recalls what it is like working with Mrs. Oyunchimeg, “She is not only good supervisor but she is like a mother to the children in our project including the Children of the Blue Sky Choir."

Besides that, Mrs Oyunchimeg is also a capable producer for the Children of the Blue Sky Choir rehearsals. She provides appropriate and excellent advice and is always willing to assist us whenever we need it. Most importantly, her heart and commitment for the children and their well being is beyond being great.

In the past, she was awarded several medals for Distinguished Labour, Best Employee from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Law and Ministry of Population Development and Social Protection. In addition, she was awarded as an Honored Citizen of Ulaanbaatar city.

World Vision Mongolia continues to make a lasting impact in the lives of children who come from dysfunctional and economically deprived families through dedicated and committed staff who do not work for awards but for the well-being of children. This has been made possible through the generous support of donors and sponsors from around the world.
