Sunday, April 26, 2015

The 7.8 magnitude earthquake, which hit not far from the capital Kathmandu has caused wide-spread destruction and displacement.

"Many of our staff and their families are quite distraught... Strong aftershocks continue to cause anxiety... Many people slept outside last night, too fearful to be inside," says Liz Satow, National Director, Nepal.

"Our relief response will target an initial 50,000 people, or 10,000 households in the worst-affected areas of Lamjung, Gorkha and Kathmandu Valley.
