Nutrition: Foundation for Health and Development
The first 1000 days - from conception to age two – lay the foundation for a child's life.
At World Vision, we envision a world where every child has the opportunity for life in all its fullness. Good nutrition is an essential foundation for health and development, yet malnutrition continues to be the world’s most serious health problem and the single-biggest contributor to child mortality. As the largest private humanitarian organisation, World Vision has made addressing malnutrition a top priority.
World Vision’s Nutrition Centre of Expertise (NCoE), part of our Global Health team, provides strategic leadership to this initiative. Our goal is to ensure that mothers and children are well nourished across our global programming reach.
The NCoE also provides leadership in nutrition programming and advocacy to the global World Vision Partnership. The centre defines nutrition strategy and standards for World Vision, and leads in nutrition-focused capacity building, research and evaluation, knowledge management and more. Find out how all this works and meet the NCoE team in About Us.
