Children in Decision-Making in Fragile Contexts: A case study from Syria

World Vision conducted the Analysis, Design and Planning Tool for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (CPHA ADAPT) for their work in the Syria Response. 

The purpose of the local level engagement was to understand the perspectives of children, families and local level child protection stakeholders on priority issues and root causes; as well as to assess what protective factors, assets and capacities exist. Emergency/instability leads to the breakdown of these capacities and as such, it is important to listen to local level stakeholders about how they are impacted and what could be done to help reduce risk factors.  

This presentation demonstrates how this analysis was done, how boys and girls reported a high level of participation and the need for more such spaces, and how World Vision triangulated local level data with national level analysis to better inform decisions around programming.
