Price Shocks: Economic gains masking a growing hunger and malnutrition crisis
World Vision's annual price survey analyses global food prices over the past three years. This Price Shocks report is a continuation of our 2021 and 2022 studies with findings showing a slight dip in the highest costs of living for some while others remain at previously marked crisis levels. This year's findings continue to underscore the uneven recovery from the socioeconomic shocks from COVID-19, inflation, and extreme weather and indicates a disparity of food prices, both in the current cost of the basket of 10 common food items and in the year-on-year comparisons. We provide insight into the year-on-year changes and share recommendations on mitigation for various audiences.

The past year has been difficult for Haiti, with the COVID-19 pandemic, earthquake, and hunger crisis. World Vision International-Haiti remains committed to supporting the most vulnerable communities, providing critical assistance in health, nutrition, education, child protection, and economic development. We have reached more than 360,000 children through our various programs and initiatives. The team is committed to improving the lives of vulnerable children and families in Haiti and is grateful for the support from volunteers, faith partners, child sponsors, peers, and the humanitarian and civil society network.
We remain committed to improving the lives of vulnerable children and families and prioritize the safety and well-being of their staff. Together, they can ensure that the needs of the affected population are met and the country can move towards stability.
