Households quench clean water
World Vision Ethiopia completed the construction of Spring Capping at Sadini Biyo Kebele, North-west Shewa Zone 140km from Addis Ababa, to provide clean water with gravity distribution for 80 households in January 2015. These households are enjoying potable water and using it for their consumption and personal hygiene. The spring development contributes a lot for the reduction of communicable diseases and water borne disease that were common in the vicinity especially affecting children and mothers due to poor personal hygiene and drinking unclean water. Fantaye Boki, 8 years old and first grader, explains her feeling “We used to drink unclean and unprotected water that animals also drink from it. So, we were sick most of the time, missing school to fetch water from a faraway place. But now, thanks to World Vision we get clean water and no more skipping class due to water related problems.”
