More than half the world’s children - that’s 1.7 billion children between the ages of 2 and 17 years - experience some form of violence every year. The economic impact of this problem is immense: Violence against children costs up to US$ 7 trillion each year or 8% of the global Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

World Vision believes we can end violence against children, but it takes a world to make it happen.

During the 12th edition of the European Development Days, Agnes (Uganda), Meghla (Bangladesh) and Suelv (Albania), three World Vision Young Leaders for Ending Violence Against Children, directly engaged with key decision-makers and stakeholders from the European Union and globally.

Together they challenged perceptions and social norms breaking the silence around violence against children. They contributed to a global movement to end every form of violence against girls and boys and change attitudes, beliefs and behaviours that condone and contribute to violence against them.
