Gender Action Platform (GAP) Project recently conducted a monitoring and evaluation visit to Hisiu village after conducting its second training on Gutpla Laep Module. Hisiu village is an indirect project impact site or simply a location where the project is not implementing its activities. However, through the Church partnership network, participants from Hisiu village under the Christian Learning Centre (CLC), attended the training and the first batch of trained teachers to teach their students on the module. The Gutpla Laep Module aims to promote and ensure school age children under 6 – 11 years of age model positive healthy gender relations, practice and demonstrate positive attitudes and behaviors towards opposite gender.
The Gender Action Platform (GAP) is a 3 year project funded by the Papua New Guinea & Australia Partnership and aims to transform cultural norms that normalize the inequality of women and underpin men's violence towards women, promote personal masculinities and support community leaders to connect men and survivors to support services.
