The Role of Traditional Leaders in Ending Child Marriages in Zambia
Realizing the need to prevent children from getting into marriages and containing traditional practices harmful to children, World Vision Zambia launched the "it takes Zambia to end child marriage" campaign. The campaign raises awareness of the destructive practices of child marriages and other associated traditional practices. Traditional leaders that come in to protect children against child marriage within their communities are at the core of contributing to ending child marriages in Zambia.
This Technical Brief provides an insight into activities traditional leaders are implementing in their chiefdoms to end child marriages.

World Vision donates relief food items following drought in parts of Tanzania
Thousands of primary and secondary school students in Ruvu Remit division in Simanjiro District in Manyara Region are in need of relief food following drought that hit the area, killing livestock –the mainstay of the economy. On Tuesday March 1st, World Vision made a donation of relief food as part of its Ruvu Remit development project. The donation included 50.7 tonnes of maize flour, 27.6 tonnes of beans, and 2,220 litres of cooking oil.

Cash assistance programme provides a helping hand to displaced families
On 11 March 2022, World Vision sponsored 417 households (1,339 beneficiaries) with 3.2 million Birr (US$62,400). Each IDP household received 800 Birr (US$16) per individual for a month. Tsehay, a mother of three, testifies of the significant impact that this support will provide to her and her children in the short- to medium term.
