Today's occasion is a milestone achievement for World Vision Solomon Islands. Indeed this official opening has shown that WVSI is growing in its reach to communities in Solomon Islands and especially Guadalcanal, Weather coast area. It also means that World Vision is committed to continue serving this part of the country with its programs under gender, livelihood, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Health and Education Sectors,” Mr Nadapdap said.

He added the office will strengthen the partnership with the communities in this part of the country and will also enable easier access to information for them.

This office will indeed strengthen our partnership with the communities we are serving here. It will also reduce the burden to communities especially coming over to Honiara Main Office to seek information regarding the programs they are working with.” He added.

Mr Nadapdap also took time to congratulate the Guadalcanal Provincial Government under the leadership of Premier Francis Sade for reaching another milestone in commemorating their Second Appointed Day.

As we all know, Guadalcanal Province has also begun here today to commemorate its Second Appointed Day. I stand here on behalf of World Vision to congratulate Premier Sade and your good government for another milestone and wish you, your government and the people of Guadalcanal Province a happy Second Appointed Day Celebrations,” he said.

Meanwhile, Guadalcanal Province Assistance Admin Officer Ray Robert thanked World Vision for establishing the office, saying this idea has supported the idea of decentralization of services.

“For World Vision to set up this office represents the government plans of decentralization where this will bring easier access for services to people,” he said.

He also assured World Vision that Guadalcanal Provincial Government will continue supporting it in its plans to ensure rural people be benefiting from its projects.
