Adolph is one of the members of Kimbanseke community who benefited from the World Vision support in agricultural inputs and farming tools that allowed him to do market gardening and today he is able to take care of his children.

My name is Adolph, 46, I am a market gardener, married with 2 children, 1 boy and 1 girl, I live in the community of Kimbanseke in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Before, I was a driver, I had worked for a long time, and I did not earn much money because I did not find good bosses able to pay me a sum of money that could support my household.  So I agreed to give up this job.

During this period, I had gone through very difficult times that did not allow me to pay the school fees of my children, to pay the rent and to feed my home.

Because of this suffering, I started to work in market gardening but unfortunately, my means were limited. I had no seeds and no farming tools. All that I produced from this market gardening was not enough to solve my problems.

One day, World Vision identified active market gardeners to support them to increase their household income.

As a member of this community, World Vision also supported me with cucumber seeds and farming tools such as watering cans, hoes, hoes and rakes.  This support helped me to expand my production of cucumber where I harvested 9 bags of 100 Kilograms that I sold per bag 80,000FCs ($40). This money allowed me to pay my rent, to pay my children's school fees and to this day, their health is assured. I will say that without the support of World Vision it will be very difficult for us to produce good results.

To consolidate all the knowledge, I have gained from World Vision, I also encourage my friends who are going through difficult times to follow my example while I support them with some crops I have.

Apart from what I am doing, I dream of starting the activities of port breeding to maximize the chance of increasing the income of my household to ensure the survival and future of my children.

I say thank you to World Vision for its support in our community which is transforming the lives of many families and their children, because of its support today I have become a happy man able to multiply crops like tomatoes, eggplant, amaranth, sorrel and spinach.
