Writing letters on Saturdays
Lasanthi spent her Saturdays with children and the alphabet. There were children between the ages 6 and 10 who needed to learn the alphabet. Lasanthi worked patiently one letter at a time until they were thorough with the letter.

Unlocking minds with Unlock literacy
Unlocking Literacy for Children & Caregivers Initiative: Targeting 450 children aged 6 to 9 in Wadi Khaled, Mhamara, and Berqayel, this program spans 40 sessions (once per week) from October 2023 to June 2024. Each session commences with a song, followed by facilitators reading a story to the children, leading to a collective discussion. Subsequently, engaging activities related to letters and numbers are conducted, fostering not only academic learning but also teamwork and social interaction among the children. Towards the end of each session, facilitators assign a small activity for the children to complete at home, enhancing their manual skills. Children are encouraged to borrow stories for home reading, and healthy snacks are provided. Additionally, caregivers of these students participate in 12 Unlock Literacy sessions, with a total target of 225 caregivers.
