World Vision Afghanistan Country Brief - FY23
World Vision Afghanistan has been responding to the needs of Afghan children and their families for over two decades.
Our operations are focused in three western provinces and one north-western province of Afghanistan providing the most vulnerable children with health and nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene, food security and livelihoods, protection and education assistance.
Between October 2022 and September 2023, over 2.9 million people, including 1.3 million children, participated in our various interventions.

Five schools in Kafue District receive a donation of Gifts-In-Kind school furniture
Through Gifts-In-Kind (GIK), World Vision Zambia, under the Chipapa Area Programme, has donated school furniture comprising single-seater desks, tables, and chairs to schools worth over 1.6 million Kwacha to five schools in the Kafue district.

Enid Ocaya: Bringing leadership lessons from refugee response in Uganda and South Sudan to the Ukraine crisis
I joined World Vision Uganda in 2012 as a Disaster Risk Reduction Manager with Humanitarian Emergency Affairs (HEA) duties. Uganda was coming out of a war of 20 years waged by the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) in Northern Uganda and that part of the country was ready for recovery programming.
