Price Shocks: Economic gains masking a growing hunger and malnutrition crisis
World Vision's annual price survey analyses global food prices over the past three years. This Price Shocks report is a continuation of our 2021 and 2022 studies with findings showing a slight dip in the highest costs of living for some while others remain at previously marked crisis levels. This year's findings continue to underscore the uneven recovery from the socioeconomic shocks from COVID-19, inflation, and extreme weather and indicates a disparity of food prices, both in the current cost of the basket of 10 common food items and in the year-on-year comparisons. We provide insight into the year-on-year changes and share recommendations on mitigation for various audiences.

Ukraine’s elderly struggles for scant medical care and food insecurity amidst ongoing war
It was the seventeenth day of heavy shelling, unceasing terror, severe food shortages, and darkness, when half of Iryna's and Nikolay's house burned to ashes. The ongoing attacks in Popasna, a small city in the Luhansk region of Ukraine, made them leave all their belongings and go west. As they settle in Dnipro, they are navigating the hurdles of displacement and war. World Vision's cash assistance helps them cover only part of their medicine expenses, and food supplies. Farmer's Day in Afghanistan
Happy Farmers Day!
24 March is FarmersDay in Afghanistan. World Vision Afghanistan under its DRA-Afghanistan Joint Response Project (AFJRP), funded by Dutch Relief Alliance (DRA), supports Afghan farmers by providing access to water and creating income-generating opportunities for them, enabling them to provide ENOUGH for their families and children. This programme also helps farmers to adapt to climate change effects, particularly drought.
With such programmes WV Afghanistan contributes to #SDG 6, 8, 12.
