San and more than 450 children in northern Sierra Leone exercise their power of choice
San, a physically challenged girl, joined over 450 children in Sierra Leone to choose her potential sponsor. World Vision International Sierra Leone organised a special Chosen event in Mongo and Delmayadu. It was not only about sponsorship, but also about "the joy of changing the lives of vulnerable children".

Localisation and Working Together For Peace
Over the years, World Vision and the United Nations have advocated for women to play a more prominent role in politics and other decision-making processes in Sierra Leone. To enhance collaboration with funding from UNPBF, UN Women, and UNDP, World Vision and other female-focused Civil Society Organizations have been implementing the Localization and Working Together for Peace project. The initiative aims to reposition women-focused civil society organizations for sustainable peace in Sierra Leone.

WASH in Fragile Contexts Project Summary
A fragile context is a geographic area where political and social pressures make people vulnerable to conflict and fracture institutions that should protect them. It is often characterised by violence and instability that impact social, political, and economic life. Additionally, fragile contexts face environmental challenges and climate change such as recurring natural disasters, flooding, or drought.
This project aims to document how to deliver high-quality WASH services in fragile contexts and to assess short-term and longer-term effects of high levels of coverage of these WASH services on fragility, vulnerability, and resilience. These projects are being implemented in Bangladesh, Burundi, and Mozambique, each facing a unique combination of fragility ranging from remote cyclone-prone hilly regions in Bangladesh, to extremely low-income drought-and-flood affected districts in Mozambique. This diversity of location allows World Vision to better document and demonstrate the impact of focused programming within the project itself, as well as translate these learnings to improve WASH implementation in other fragile contexts for both World Vision and the broader sector.

Our presence in Somalia since 1993 has allowed us to establish strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health (MoH), regional and district health offices, local partners and community actors to expand health and nutrition programming nationally. World Vision is headquartered in Mogadishu, with main regional offices in Baidoa, Doolow, Garowe and Hargeisa, plus 13 additional sub-offices across Somalia.
