BREASTFEEDING TO SAVE LIVES
The VenEsperanza program, led by World Vision Colombia with support from USAID, establishes breastfeeding spaces in vulnerable areas like Suesca, Colombia. These spaces educate and assist pregnant and lactating mothers, emphasizing the importance of breastfeeding for infants' early development. They also aid vulnerable populations, including migrants and refugees, who lack access to health services. Promoting optimal breastfeeding in children under two can save lives and prevent child and maternal deaths in developing countries. VenEsperanza provides humanitarian support to Venezuelan migrants, returning Colombians, and host communities in Colombia, facilitated by USAID and partnering organizations.
