Hard Lessons
World Vision(WV) and Action for Humanity (AFH)’s “Hard Lessons” study today looks into Syrian children with disabilities’ exposure to protection risks in Lebanon and Northwest Syria. In the midst of deteriorating socio-economic contexts and growing barriers to inclusive education, displaced and refugee Syrian girls and boys with disabilities were found to be more exposed to protections risks such as child labour and early marriage.

The project “ Support for Disadvantaged, Peripheral Neighbourhoods in Lebanon through Cash for Work (C4WL)” provided 800 job opportunities in a labor-intensive project involving the light rehabilitation of public spaces in the regions of Zgharta and Koura.

Ahead of the Brussels 7 donors’ conference for Syria and the region, World Vision has compiled a policy brief outlining humanitarian needs in Syria and host countries – namely Jordan, Lebanon, Turkiye and Iraq – while calling on donors to step up funding and long-term solutions for the Syria crisis that has been impacting refugee and IDP women, girls and boys for the past 12 years.
