Rabbit rearing improves Atiama’s economic and livelihood activities
As climate change continues to influence the decline of northern Ghana’s farmers’ productivity and livelihoods, it is also leaving a legacy of widening poverty. Consequently, adopting livelihood diversification techniques is necessary for farmers’ resilience building. One of the communities witnessing a drastic decline in their livelihood is Wakii, a farming community in the Upper East region of Ghana.
To build their resilience as well as help restore the agility of the environment, World Vision Ghana has introduced rabbit rearing as one of the alternative livelihood and income-generating activities for farmers in Wakii. “I wondered how rabbits rearing could add value to my livelihood if local poultry did little; nevertheless, I decided to give it a try," Atiama, a farmer, said.

World Vision commissions a borehole for Mirigu basic school
The facility was constructed in 2019 in response to the acute water challenges that confronted the school, leading to disruption in academic activities. It also supported the school to establish a vegetable garden and trained a maintenance committee to manage the borehole to ensure durability and maximum impact. About 710 pupils and staff of Mirigu Primary and Junior High schools are benefiting.

Winterisation Methods Report
The aim of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of different winterization methods in terms of minimizing cold during the winter season, determining the cost of each technique and comparing the environmental impact.
The results of this study visualize the climate and cost benefits when expanding the utilization of olive pomace, wood, fuel and gas, as a heating source for vulnerable families exposed to cold winters.
