A journey towards environmental restoration: U Myint’s story
U Myint, from Kyun Chaung Lay village in Myanmar, has witnessed significant environmental changes over the past decade. Facing severe deforestation and climate change impacts, his community launched a 20-acre Community Forestry area in 2010 with support from World Vision. Using innovative techniques, the village successfully restored their forest, bolstered by further environmental projects. These efforts have empowered the community to manage their natural resources effectively, promoting sustainability and resilience against climate change.
