Reading their Way to Success - International Literacy Day

Monday, September 8, 2014

World Vision is working to increase the number of children who can read by age 11 and equip them with essential life skills.

  • We work with community stakeholders including school management committees, parents, teachers and community leaders to improve learning in school, after school and at home.
  • We develop partnerships at all levels to increase the reach, scope and quality of education initiatives.
  • We support effective teaching by training and enhancing the skills of teachers.
  • We build capacity of volunteers and teaching assistants to work alongside the formal education system and participate in after-school activities.
  • We develop locally-relevant, contextualised teaching resources by seeking expertise from partners and drawing on community support.
