Reading their Way to Success - International Literacy Day
World Vision is working to increase the number of children who can read by age 11 and equip them with essential life skills.
- We work with community stakeholders including school management committees, parents, teachers and community leaders to improve learning in school, after school and at home.
- We develop partnerships at all levels to increase the reach, scope and quality of education initiatives.
- We support effective teaching by training and enhancing the skills of teachers.
- We build capacity of volunteers and teaching assistants to work alongside the formal education system and participate in after-school activities.
- We develop locally-relevant, contextualised teaching resources by seeking expertise from partners and drawing on community support.
