We Are Responsive, Eswatini

On December 9, 2023, the Shiselweni region of the Kingdom of Eswatini experienced the effects of climate change when a storm devastated cars and houses in Ngculwini, Mtsambama, Khubutha, and other areas. As a humanitarian organization, we respond to life-threatening emergencies where our involvement is necessary and appropriate.

Through the support of our donors and partners, World Vision Eswatini, through its Humanitarian and Emergency Affairs department, successfully donated clothing to 111 people, including children, located in the Mtsambama constituency. An additional 266 people in the Khubutha constituency are still awaiting their clothing distribution.

The clothing items include pants, t-shirts, winter socks, hats, dresses, sweaters, and jackets. Nosipho Dlamini, World Vision Eswatini's Humanitarian and Emergency Affairs Coordinator, stated that most households were severely affected by the hailstorm.

"The constituencies we selected were those hit hardest by the storm. We chose the most vulnerable people from these communities to receive the clothing," she said.

World Vision's Gifts-In-Kind program provides essential resources to people and children in need, helping them create better opportunities for a brighter future. "I really love my clothes, thank you World Vision," said Lungelo, from Mtsambama, beaming with joy.
