Shine, a 25-year-old Medical Project Officer for the Nourish Delta II project based in Thabaung Township, Ayeyarwady Division, graduated in 2019 with a degree in Community Health. Since then, Shine has been actively involved in the development sector, particularly focusing on healthcare. Shine's journey began with the Myanmar Health Assistant Association (MHAA) in 2019. Reflecting on the choice of career path, Shine shares, "As a graduate in community health, I aimed to make a meaningful contribution to communities that lack access to healthcare services. Collaborating with NGOs and INGOs enables us to address and meet the healthcare needs of these communities effectively."

In 2022, Shine continued his development journey with World Vision International Myanmar as a Development Field Officer for the Nourish Delta Project in the Pathein Area Program. He shared his experiences upon joining World Vision, saying, “I have been aware of World Vision since I began working in the development sector. During the interview process, I sensed a warmth and a positive working environment. As a non-Christian, I had concerns before joining World Vision, but the staff members were humble, warm, and supportive. I am lucky to work in a such good working environment.”

In 2023, Shine's journey with World Vision International continued as a Medical Project Officer for the Nourish Delta II project in the Thabaung Area Program. The Nourish Delta II project focuses on implementing nutrition activities in the Ayeyarwaddy Region, specifically targeting children under 5 years old and pregnant or lactating women. He expressed confidence in his role in supporting health and nutrition within the community through World Vision International Myanmar. This confidence comes from World Vision's comprehensive support, which includes technical assistance such as health and nutrition awareness and consultations and the provision of supplements and RUTF (Ready to Use Therapeutic Food) for mothers and children.

Shine's daily life as a Medical Project Officer involves conducting field visits, primarily focused on screening the nutrition status of children under 5 in the community. This screening includes measuring their weight, height, and MUAC (mid-upper arm circumference). Despite the challenges, Shine remains consistently motivated and dedicated to his work. He expressed, "I feel happy and fulfilled when I see a child in the community gaining weight, growing taller, and becoming healthier. There's no feeling quite like it." Shine passion for working with children drives him, and he considers himself truly blessed to have a regular job during these difficult times. He plans to continue working in the health development sector for the vulnerable mothers and children within the community.
