Friday, November 11, 2016

Whether leadership is born or nurtured is a continuous debate. Whichever school of thought you ascribe to, I bet we all agree that education is irreplaceable in sharpening a leader’s skills and mind.

World Vision Kenya (WVK) congratulates its 13 staff who graduated with Post Graduate Diplomas in Leadership at the Pan African Christian (PAC) University on 28th October, 2016.

Dickens Thunde, World Vision Kenya National Director, expressed optimism that the organisation has better equipped staff owing to the rigorous training the graduates went through.

“The real value of the investment we have put in you is to be seen in how you apply yourself to your work”, said Mr. Thunde.

Prof. Margaret Muthwii, Pan African Christian University Vice Chancellor, praised the quality of interaction between the students and the university’s lecturers stating the experience was enriching for both parties. She advised the graduates to continue sharpening their minds and skills as they serve.

She recognized the graduates as “robust and relevant” alluding to the university’s 35th graduation theme for the class of 2016.

World Vision Kenya Cluster Manager Taita-Taveta County, Barzil Mwakuloba who is also the HiPo 2016 cohort class representative thanked World Vision Kenya’s Leadership Team for investing in them.

“Through this course, my appetite to grow in leadership has been whetted. I have been equipped to build effective teams, learnt to manage organisational change and understood the need to know myself well to lead effectively”, said Mwakuloba.

“I am persuaded that they were led of God to get this program going”, he said on behalf of his colleagues.

DISTINCTIONS went to Geofree Githinji, Barzil Mwakulomba, Jacqueline Rioba with HIGH CREDITS going to Phillemon Kemei, Florence Jepkosgei, Jeniffer Koki, William Orang’o, Stephen Muthui, Linda Muyoti, Thatcher Ng’ong’a, Reuben Sang, Joseph Tinkoi and Moses Wangunyu.
