One Month On Since The Earthquake Struck Central Myanmar
It’s been one month since the earthquake hit Myanmar, and the need is still massive. Children are going without food and clean water. Schools and hospitals are damaged. Families are living in overcrowded, unsafe shelters. This is truly a crisis within a crisis. Unseasonal rain is already disrupting aid delivery, and with the arrival of monsoon season in the coming months, the compounding effects of these challenges will be catastrophic for thousands of children who have lost their homes and are living in temporary shelters, increasing the risks of waterborne diseases.
World Vision is providing life-saving relief assistance to the children and families affected by the earthquake. We aim to support 500,000 people, including 172,000 children, through immediate relief and long-term recovery efforts. As of 21st April 2025, through our humanitarian efforts, we have reached 162,133 people affected by the earthquake, including 52,358 children.
