Communities in the West Bank are enduring a deepening crisis. Daily life has become increasingly difficult due to a sharp rise in violence, severe restrictions on movement, and the sudden loss of access to work. In response to the worsening situation, World Vision undertook a broad listening exercise to better understand how families in the West Bank are coping and what support they need most. By engaging with parents, children, community leaders, and volunteers across a wide area, we aimed to capture the real-life impact of the crisis on people’s everyday lives.

In 2024, the intertwined challenges of conflict, climate change, and economic uncertainty continued to heighten vulnerability for children and families across West and Central Africa. Families across the West Bank are facing an unprecedented crisis marked by hunger, poverty, and fear, according to a new report released today by World Vision. The Unseen Crisis highlights the worsening situation for children, revealing an almost tenfold increase in the number of families reporting that a member had gone a full day without eating since 2022. Three out of four households surveyed are now unable to cover their most essential needs, and half of the children are regularly skipping meals.

In a groundbreaking move to address critical issues affecting girls' education, World Vision Zambia has partnered with Absa Bank Zambia PLC on the Flow Fund campaign aimed at raising K700,000 ($30,000 United States Dollars) to provide 5,000 girls in rural communities with reusable sanitary towels. This initiative aims to end menstrual poverty, a significant barrier preventing many girls from attending school regularly, and to promote gender equality in education.
