World Vision Kenya Launches National Flood Response
Amidst the devastating floods in Kenya, Mathare North Primary School shelters 200 families, grappling with despair. As of April 29th, the Government of Kenya reports indicate that approximately 150,365 people have been displaced by the ongoing rains, with 169 deaths recorded as floods swept through almost half of Kenya.
World Vision is responding with urgent aid, delivering cash transfers having launched a national flood relief effort to reach over 84,000 affected individuals.

World Vision commits US $1.7 billion to end child hunger and malnutrition in Africa
The child-focused aid agency said the 3-year campaign investment will improve the nutritional status of children living in the most vulnerable communities across 27 countries on the continent, through promotion of nutritional interventions to reduce hunger among the most affected populations.

According to the Somalia Health and Demographic Survey (SHDS, 2020), gender-based violence (GBV) remains one of the most prevalent human rights violations faced by women and girls in Somalia. The survey shows that over 60% of women face physical abuse, denial of education, forced marriage, rape and sexual harassment forms of domestic violence.
