World Vision and three agencies of the Vietnam Government will jointly implement a child health care project in Dien Bien, Yen Bai, Hoa Binh and Quang Tri province between now and 2016.

Representatives of World Vision, the Ministry of Health’s Maternal and Child Health Department, the National Institute of Malariology, Parasitology and Entomology and the National Institute of Nutrition signed a memorandum of understanding on the Child Health Now Project in March in Hanoi.

Accordingly, the project will improve nutrition status of children under five through advocating for nutrition policies and giving support to the four provinces in implementing the Vietnamese Government’s National Nutrition Strategy.

The project will be implemented at the national, provincial and district levels. Its activities will be integrated into the Government’s national nutrition programmes as well as World Vision’s nutrition interventions in thefour provinces. About 267,000 children under five will be benefited from the work.

The Child Health Now project is part of the Child Health Now Campaign which has been raised by World Vision International across 100 countries.
