Life, Displacement, and Regained Happiness
This is the story of Asmahan. Asmahan is originally from Qaraqosh but had to leave her home due to the conflict that started in Iraq back in 2014. When she returned to her hometown, she continued sewing to support her family and recently attended a business development and sewing training as part of an Australian Aid initiative implemented by World Vision Iraq on behalf of the Australian Government. The project helps displaced communities in Qaraqosh with strengthening the business development skills of heads of households.

World Vision New Avenues - Cash Roadmap 2.0 (FY24-27)
World Vision has facilitated the use of cash and voucher modalities for over 20 years, initially focusing on humanitarian disaster management, emergency response and recovery contexts. Since the Grand Bargain/World Humanitarian Summit 2016 commitments by key stakeholders, including World Vision, a rapid and steady increase of Cash Voucher Programming Modalities (CVP) has enabled vulnerable children, their families and community members to meet their basic needs.

Rabia is not an ordinary person, she is a revolutionary one. This story will delve into how Rabia has revolutionized her family as well as the women and men of her community. It is not easy to be a revolutionary woman in communities in Iraq when there are so many restrictions and boundaries set for women everywhere. Women are often pressured to stay indoors, not to go out, and to be outspoken. It takes tremendous courage to break all these barriers to be free and independent.
