Jeremiah's dream is within grasp through World Vision's youth empowerment project
Jeremiah's childhood was marked by the absence of parental figures. Abandoned by both his father and mother, he found refuge in another family in Morobe. However, formal education only lasted until Grade 3, and he soon found himself navigating the unforgiving streets of Lae, resorting to collecting containers and engaging in petty theft to survive.
Everything changed when the RYRNYSW Project reached Bumbu. Jeremiah saw it as a lifeline, an opportunity to break the cycle of poverty through skills development. Despite initial hesitation from some friends, he actively participated in the project's various modules, discovering a passion for driving. Recognising the importance of work in shaping his future, Jeremiah identified driving as a skill that could open doors for employment.

Invisible and Forgotten: Displaced children hungrier and at more risk than ever
The number of child refugees has more than doubled since 2005; on top of their increased vulnerability, they are facing hunger and malnourishment as well as complex situations that put their safety at risk. Many forcibly displaced children live in areas often overlooked by the international community and aid resources due to global priorities. Girls and boys are not responsible for conflicts, climate change, or responses to global pandemics, nor do they bear any responsibility for food supply shortages or hyperinflation, yet these issues continue to disproportionately affect their well-being and jeopardise their access to the education critical to helping pull them out of the vicious cycle of poverty and hunger.

Ukraine’s elderly struggles for scant medical care and food insecurity amidst ongoing war
It was the seventeenth day of heavy shelling, unceasing terror, severe food shortages, and darkness, when half of Iryna's and Nikolay's house burned to ashes. The ongoing attacks in Popasna, a small city in the Luhansk region of Ukraine, made them leave all their belongings and go west. As they settle in Dnipro, they are navigating the hurdles of displacement and war. World Vision's cash assistance helps them cover only part of their medicine expenses, and food supplies. As pensioners who rely on a meager pension and humanitarian aid, they find it more difficult to deal with the realities of war.

#JoiningForcesAlliance #PressRelease: 8-Year-Old Boy Spends Night in Cold Police Cell and is Denied Food; Joining Forces Alliance Demands for Immediate Government Action.
We, the Joining Forces Alliance (JFA), are deeply appalled and concerned about the recent incident involving an 8-year-old boy who was unjustly held in a cold police cell overnight and denied access to food. This incident is a clear violation of the rights and well-being of a child, highlighting a grave failure in the system that is meant to protect and care for children.
