2014 Nong Son Children’s Forum

To achieve a society without violence or child abuse, over 150 children, including 14 with disabilities, travelled from seven Nong Son districts to participate in World Vision’s 2014 forum for young residents.
The attendees took part in various competitions and games, including a drawing contest to express their dreams of a society in which all children receive proper care and a writing challenge whereby competitors described their thoughts on all aspects of development.
The highlight of the day for many, though, was the ‘Ring the Golden Bell’ competition, which is a reworked version of a TV game show to equip players with knowledge of child rights, child protection and how to prevent the trafficking of people.
After singing, dancing and performing short plays, the children closed the forum by joining with the local authorities to sign a memorandum for a society free of violence and child abuse.
