FY231

It has been another dynamic year in East Africa, and we are pleased to share our 2023 impact and results towards building brighter futures for vulnerable children in the region.

Last year World Vision East Africa reached 16 million children (of a total 26 million people) in East Africa, through more than 900 projects and interventions.

Populations across East Africa struggled with a confluence of recurring climatic shocks, widespread food insecurity, and reduced access to livelihoods. These ongoing challenges, exacerbated by persistent conflict and resultant displacement, contributed to sustained humanitarian needs and ongoing complex emergencies. In FY23 we continued to respond to 12 emergencies, top among them the East Africa Hunger Emergency Response, Sudan Crisis and Migration Emergency Response and the Sustained Humanitarian Refugee Responses in Ethiopia, Somalia, South Sudan & Uganda.

World Vision East Africa is working in nine countries in the region - Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.

This annual report provides an overview of World Vision’s work in the East Africa Region from October 2022 to September 2023.

We invite you to read this report and pray it inspires you to engage further with our region.
