Returning to their roots; growing a future for themselves and their children
Vasile, 46, and Marie, 44, live with their five children in the remote and mountainous Vasliu region of Romania. The commune they call home is called Todiresti. It is where Maria grew up and where she knew she wanted to raise a family someday.
