OUR PROMISE BOLD HOPE FOR CHILDREN
Launched in November 2016, the Our Promise strategy represents our pledge to the world’s most vulnerable children: Inspired by our Christian faith, we will continue to transform lives in the world’s hardest-to-reach places, empowering every girl and boy to reach their God-given potential. This is at the core of our vision statement: ‘Our vision for every child, life in all its fullness. Our prayer for every heart, the will to make it so.’
Our strategy calls us to focus relentlessly on eradicating poverty in all its forms – in line with the goals of the Sustainable Development Agenda. There could not be a better time to move into our final phase of the Our Promise strategy. As we approach 2030, our world faces unprecedented needs. Food insecurity is on the rise, displacement is increasing, and protection risks are haunting and halting childhoods. At the same time, our work is under extraordinary pressure with traditional funding shrinking, technology rapidly transforming, and global instability rising.
Such realities demand a bold, fast, and integrated final phase of our strategy. Incremental change will not be enough to stay relevant and impactful. In these final five years, World Vision will act with urgency and embrace radical focus, agility, and courage, with Christ at the centre, and children at the heart.
World Vision was born in a crisis more than 75 years ago and is called for a time such as this. Together, embodying bold hope, we and everyone who partners with us will change the course of history for vulnerable children.
Going further than we imagined for the world’s most vulnerable children
Our Strategic Shifts
Our strategic ambition is that World Vision will be recognised and respected globally for delivering measurable results at scale in a reduced number of clearly prioritised child outcome areas.
That our offices around the world are united behind these impact priorities, working to achieve bold targets that inspire action and accountability for results. That child impact data will drive agility and effectiveness, enabling quick adaptation to changing realities – maximising impact through context-relevant models. Also, our technical expertise in the agreed child outcome priorities is world-class, locally grounded, and strategically and effectively deployed to serve the field where and when it matters most.
