World Vision Zambia recently hosted the first learning event for four African countries implementing Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) as a catalyst project. This initiative aims to demonstrate FMNR's effectiveness in restoring degraded landscapes and regenerating depleted forests. The participating countries included Zambia, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Uganda, each implementing FMNR in their respective regions. World Vision Australia was also part of the learning event as FMNR scale-up champions.

In the Chinfuca community, Cacongo municipality, the Integrated Cabinda Project (PIC) has revitalized the local school and introduced a school meals program. Twelve-year-old Miguel, who once struggled to attend school regularly due to food shortages, now enjoys a hot, nutritious meal twice a week, thanks to this initiative. Despite the community's severe poverty, the consistent meals have inspired Miguel to stay in school and pursue his dreams.

In the context of the emergency response to drought caused by the El Niño phenomenon in Southern Angola, World Vision, in partnership with People in Need Angola and funded by the #StartFund, is conducting the rehabilitation and installation of water wells in Huíla province.

Access to water remains a challenge in several rural communities in the Southern region of Angola. Drastically affected by the impacts of the El Niño climatic phenomenon, many families are facing extreme difficulties as many of the water springs that previously supplied them have dried up due to drought or are being used by animals, further compromising water quality.
