World Vision Mozambique Aiming to Assist 75,000 Cyclone-Stricken People in Mozambique
MAPUTO, 17 December -- World Vision is planning to reach up to 75,000 people, particularly children, affected by Tropical Cyclone Chido in the provinces of Cabo Delgado and Nampula, in northern Mozambique. The organization urgently seeks US$1.2 million to provide critical assistance, including food, shelter, water, sanitation and hygiene, and protection. At least 27 people have died, and thousands have been displaced after losing their homes.

Sadi Alhassan’s inspiring journey to empowerment
Sadi Alhassan, a 60-year-old widow displaced from Torodi, overcame her challenges through her involvement in a savings group supported by World Vision Niger. Trained to make soap, couscous, and sesame oil, she turned her skills into a source of income for her family. Her group of 25 women generated 200,000 CFA francs, enabling microcredit and solidarity donations. Sadi was able to send her daughters to school and improve her household hygiene. Her journey embodies the power of female empowerment through solidarity and training.
