Climate change hits children hardest, especially in urban slums. World Vision’s Cities for Children framework builds just, resilient cities for every child.

This report presents the voices of 69 children—33 girls and 36 boys—aged 14 to 17 from 10 countries, sharing their experiences and perspectives on migration. Through consultations, they discussed key themes, including the drivers of migration, its impact on children, identity documentation, challenges in civil registration, and recommendations for strengthening civil registration and vital statistics (CRVS) systems. The participating countries were Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.

For years, Sydney 44, a small-scale farmer in Namwala district, watched his efforts wash away with each dry season. With only a small piece of land and no reliable water source, he could barely grow enough vegetables to feed his family, let alone sell at the local market.

“Before the borehole came, we used to suffer. We didn’t have the time to go to the field and cultivate. Only one person would go and farm, which is why poverty became worse,” says Charity.
