Price Shocks: Economic gains masking a growing hunger and malnutrition crisis
World Vision's annual price survey analyses global food prices over the past three years. This Price Shocks report is a continuation of our 2021 and 2022 studies with findings showing a slight dip in the highest costs of living for some while others remain at previously marked crisis levels. This year's findings continue to underscore the uneven recovery from the socioeconomic shocks from COVID-19, inflation, and extreme weather and indicates a disparity of food prices, both in the current cost of the basket of 10 common food items and in the year-on-year comparisons. We provide insight into the year-on-year changes and share recommendations on mitigation for various audiences.

World Vision International Lesotho is hosting a high-level roundtable discussion on Humanitarian Advocacy and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management to be held on May 22, 2023 at Lancers Inn Hotel. This round table discussion is intended to create a platform for all relevant stakeholders to participate and contribute to interactive dialogues on the community representative findings on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM), Education in Emergencies and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA).

Building disaster capacity and preparedness in Solomon Islands
In Solomon Islands, World Vision is partnering with the National Disaster Management Office to equip flood-prone communities with early warning devices. Community members are also trained on disaster preparedness which includes evacuation drills to ready themselves when a disaster strikes.
