Dr Kathryn Taetzsch

Senior Director, Humanitarian and Development Capacity and Capabilities

Kathryn has over 25 years of strategic and operational humanitarian response and academic research experience in fragile, conflict- and natural disaster-affected contexts in Africa, Asia, and Middle East, Eastern Europe (Ukraine Crisis, Iraq Response), and Latin America (e.g. West Africa Ebola response, South Sudan/ Uganda Refugees, Iraq IDPs and Syrian Refugees, Darfur crisis response, Indonesia IDPs, Hurricane response in central America, El-Nino disaster preparedness & response, etc).

She contributes to global and regional humanitarian industry conferences, panels and publications on pathways to shock-responsive social protection, enabling Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus, local inclusive business in fragile contexts and displacement crises, resilience and financial inclusion for most vulnerable families and their children.

Key areas of interest to her are locally-led capacity investment disruptive change-approaches to leveraging local and global capabilities to help address power-inequalities, leveraging digital technologies. Kathryn serves/d on the Board of Directors for Partnership Brokers Association (PBA), Do no Digital Harm Initiative, CashCap, and as technical lead on UN/Private Sector Global Connecting Business Initiative (CBI) as well as Co-Chair of the NGO Collaborative Cash Delivery (CCD) Network.
