Mrs Sibongile Modise (South Africa) has been a member of WV South Africa since 2012 and since 2014 she is serving as Chair. She is a Chartered Accountant with experience both in the corporate sector as well as business start-ups, covering a period of 25 years. She has operated at an executive level and knows what is required in order to maintain high performance standards. She has worked in the sectors of energy, energy efficiency, mining, hospitality and public entities. She attained invaluable experience and skills in finance from the aforementioned sections that exposed her to: capital projector assessments and evaluation for investment and funding, strategy development and identification of financing mechanisms for energy efficient projects, stakeholder engagement, interaction with local and international financiers and funders, communicating key issues to stakeholders with different contexts and different perspectives, financial management and project accounting functions, administration and services functioning, including liaising with external auditors. Sibongile has a deep-rooted passion for the upliftment of women within society. This inspired her to serve as a volunteer in a church ministry programme. She also serves in numerous Boards which include serving as director for: Inyosi Coal (Pty) Ltd, Uju Mana Services (Pty) Ltd, UJU ESS (Pty) Ltd and Ndonsa Mining (Pty) Ltd. She also serves on the Finance and Risk and Operations Committee of the Anglo American Inyosi Coal company. She attends His People Church.
