Child Protection

Child Protection FY2025_ Ethiopia

World Vision Ethiopia's Child Protection and Participation Department works to create safe, inclusive, and protective environments for children, women, and people with disabilities. We prevent and respond to violence, abuse, neglect, exploitation, harmful practices, child protection risks, and gender-based violence through community-based prevention, awareness raising, case management, mental health and psychosocial support, and referral services.

Our programmes strengthen child protection systems, promote positive parenting and social norm change, support mental health and psychosocial well-being, and improve access to case management and referral services. We also implement gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response programmes, helping women and girls access GBV services and protection support. In humanitarian settings, we provide integrated child protection and GBV interventions to address protection risks and support affected children and families.

Working with families, communities, local partners, and government institutions, we strengthen local systems and promote meaningful child participation.

In 2025, our interventions reached 334,048 children, contributing to improved safety, well-being, and access to protection services.
