A birthday without celebrations: The resilience of migrant children
A 6-year-old girl, Amber, faced unimaginable hardships as her family fled Venezuela due to a food crisis. They endured five years of uncertainty in Colombia but decided to brave the dangerous Darien jungle in 2023 to find a better life. Amber celebrated her 6th birthday in the jungle, receiving a cake and a doll. They continued their journey through Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and now Honduras, with Amber serving as their motivation. With the help of organizations like World Vision, they dream of finding a safe and hopeful place to call home. Amber's resilience shines through.

Price Shocks: Economic gains masking a growing hunger and malnutrition crisis
World Vision's annual price survey analyses global food prices over the past three years. This Price Shocks report is a continuation of our 2021 and 2022 studies with findings showing a slight dip in the highest costs of living for some while others remain at previously marked crisis levels. This year's findings continue to underscore the uneven recovery from the socioeconomic shocks from COVID-19, inflation, and extreme weather and indicates a disparity of food prices, both in the current cost of the basket of 10 common food items and in the year-on-year comparisons. We provide insight into the year-on-year changes and share recommendations on mitigation for various audiences.

World Vision launches ENOUGH campaign in Kenya to address child hunger and malnutrition in the country. The landmark campaign is a timely initiative that will not only call for enough nutritious food in school and at home, but will also call for improved data collection, climate-smart agriculture, and policy reforms even as the Kenyan Government plans to establish a national policy on school meals by June 2023 as well as strengthen the efficiency and accountability mechanisms of the school meals initiative.
