Joint Statement on Pandemic Accord by WHO Faith Network members

In this joint statement, members of the World Health Organization (WHO) Faith Network call for strengthened language in the pandemic accord on faith-based organizations and their vital role in pandemic prevention and response. Read more from WHO.

WHO Director General Dr Tedros spoke about the pandemic accord during a recent video message to the Multi-Religious and Multi-Stakeholder High-Level Forum on the role of faith in advancing positive outcomes for children, families, and communities, organised by Religions for Peace in New York on 25 March 2024.

A finalised accord on pandemic preparedness, prevention and response is aimed to be adopted at the May 27 to June 1 World Health Assembly of the WHO's 194 member states.
