Voices unlocked: In Uganda, children are turning smartphones into storytelling tools, using mobile journalism to shine a light on their communities, challenges, and opportunities and inspire change. Since its launch in 2019, World Vision Uganda’s MOJO initiative has trained youth to script, film, edit, and produce impactful stories using smartphones. This empowers them to share their lived experiences and push for change in their communities.

Nyamata Technical Secondary School (TSS) once struggled with a lack of essential educational resources, leaving students unable to gain practical skills in areas like technology and engineering. This changed dramatically when World Vision partnered with the school in 2010, providing modern computers and digital learning tools that transformed the educational experience. Students like Raymond and Obald now gain hands-on experience in programming, networking, and design, equipping them with skills needed to thrive in Rwanda’s growing digital economy. Teachers have also seen a significant improvement in their ability to deliver effective lessons, thanks to the enhanced resources.
