2017 Global Platform For Disaster Risk Reduction

World Vision advocates for the involvement of children, youth and communities in disaster risk reduction actions (DRR). For that reason, we are going to take part in the Global Platform of Disaster Risk Reduction 2017 (GP2017). This is the main international forum to advise, coordinate and develop DRR strategies and plans. This international event is taking place in Cancun, Mexico from May 24 to 26. World Vision is participating with a delegation from all over the world: Canada, Chile, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Lesotho, Mexico, Mongolia, Philippines, United Kingdom, and the Latin-American and the Caribbean regional office.

World Vision has developed and implemented methodologies to support vulnerable communities so that they build up knowledge and capacities in weather information systems and sustainable agricultural practices, to enable parents and caregivers to provide well-being for their children.
