Our History

World Vision began working in Lesotho in 1987.

Our work was entirely funded through the generosity of international child sponsors until 2002 when Lesotho experienced a devastating drought. In response to the needs of those affected, we began receiving grants from private donors in order to facilitate relief and livelihood recovery activities.

For more than three decades, our teams of dedicated development professionals have been improving the well-being of children.

Today, our programmes and activities help more than 45,000 sponsored children and their families each year.
