Mr Eduardo Jimenez (Philippines) has been a member of the WV Philippines Board since 2007 and was elected to the WVI Board in 2013. He is a Microfinance Advisor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, advising on advocacy, policy and regulatory issues affecting the practice of Microfinance and Financial Inclusion in the banking sector. He is an Associate of the Bangkok based Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI), a global network of financial regulators from 90 developing countries. He has travelled to about 30 countries to present papers, lecture, evaluate or design development projects. He has worked as consultant to the UN and the World Bank/IFC Group as well as with other multilateral and bilateral organizations like Asian Development Bank (ADB), GTZ/GiZ, FAO, USAID and EU among others. He has also served as adviser to the Department of Finance and the Cooperative Development Authority of the Philippines in crafting the Philippines’ Performance Standards for Microfinance Practitioners, as well as the Philippines’ Microfinance Literacy Program. Ed previously worked for the then Central Bank of the Philippines in various capacities as well as for a network of Philippine-based Christian organizations involved in microenterprise and microfinance lending. He is a Trustee of the Microfinance Council of the Philippines (MCPI), Inc., as well as Community Economic Venture (CEVI), Inc., the Vision Fund Microfinance Institution in the Philippines. Ed has teaching engagements at the Rome-based International Development Law Organization (IDLO and at the Asian Institute of Finance (AIF). He is married and has two sons. He and his family attend the Victory Christian Fellowship.
